Dr Laura Longstaff (f)
MBBS (2005 Newcastle), MRCGP (2010), DRCOG, DFSRH, PGCME. Practical Palliative Care Diploma. Qualified Contraceptive Implant and Coil fitter.Laura joined the surgery in 2012 and is Senior Partner. She has a specialist interest in medical education and women’s health. She also works as a Training Programme Director for the Harrogate GP Training Scheme. Her favourite days feature swimming, shopping and enjoying a few Margarita’s in Florida!
Dr Nick Rummens (m)
MBBS (2008 Newcastle), MRCGP (2019)Nick joined the surgery in 2020. He has an interest in joint injections and musculoskeletal medicine, alongside being a GP trainer. Nick enjoys hill walking and sailing.
Dr Eric Robertson (m)
MBBS (2008 Newcastle) MRCGP (2013)Eric has been a member of the team since 2013. He has a commitment to minor surgery, joint injections, learning disability and frailty. Eric also helps out with the medical trainees at the Practice. Outside of the surgery, Eric has a young family and can often be found out in Thirsk with them at the Sowerby bike track.
Dr Jenny Smailes (f)
MBChB (2000 Bristol) MRCGP (2005) DRCOG DFSRH Practical Palliative Care Diploma.Jenny became a partner at the surgery in 2015. She enjoys the medical mix and variety that General Practice brings, but has an interest in Women’s Health and Lifestyle Medicine. She is the Practice Lead for Safeguarding. Jenny enjoys cooking and spending time with family and friends. She tries to keep fit through running and cold water swimming.
Dr Katie Dixon (f)
MB ChB (2005 Leeds) MRCGP (2011), BSc Physiology (2003 Leeds) DRCOG, DFSRH, DipOccMed, Practical Palliative Care Diploma, RCGP Certificate in the Management of Substance MisuseKatie has worked at the surgery since 2021. She has a specialist interest in diabetes, women’s health including fitting coils and implants, and she is also an occupational health physician (meaning she can advise on fitness for work). Outside of work she enjoys swimming, partaking in an occasional triathlon and taking her Cypriot rescue dog, Angus, out on walks with her kids.
