Gemma Harrison

I am a practice pharmacist working for Hambleton South PCN. I provide support to the practice staff with regards to medication and prescription queries or concerns. I also provide clinical medication reviews to manage patients with single or multiple problems and complex polypharmacy and assist them to get the best out of their medicines. Furthermore, I can provide patients with advice on common and minor ailments. My role also includes, medicines reconciliation during transfer of care and working with other healthcare professionals to ensure consistency of patient care and benefit.

Idoya Pezonga

Idoya qualified as a pharmacist in Spain in 1991 and completed a Master’s degree from the University of Surrey in 1993. Idoya registered as a pharmacist in the UK in 1994.

She obtained a Certificate in Diabetes from the Warwick University in 2003 and has since developed further her interest in Diabetes.

She trained as an Independent Prescriber at the University of Bradford and completed her training in 2015.

Idoya started her career in hospital pharmacy and has worked in community pharmacy and Primary Care Organisations in the NHS supporting GPs with prescribing advice. She has worked as a Clinical Pharmacist in GP surgeries since 2014 and started working for Thirsk Doctors Surgery in March 2024.

Idoya has experience teaching medical students and other health care professionals which she finds very rewarding.

Her areas of particular interest are cardiovascular disease including hypertension and lipid management as well as diabetes management. She also undertakes structured medication reviews to ensure patient’s safety and medication efficacy.
